Plenty of hotels feature works of art, and some even have the occasional multi-million-dollar Old Masters.

But if you’re looking to see something a little more modern, you can find some edgy art in hotels.

The Pfister Hotel in Milwaukee has an annual Artist in Residence program.

The artist himself will spend a year creating new works out of a studio on the hotel’s first floor.

The 21C Museum Hotel is—you guessed it—part contemporary art museum, part boutique hotel.

The newest 21C hotel just opened in downtown Durham, North Carolina, showing works from both known and emerging artists.

This year, the Langham Place, New York, will showcase the works of native New York artist Alex Katz.

But not all art is visual. Corinthia Hotel London announced that its fourth annual Artist in Residence program will be in the form of opera. The artist will take up residency in the hotel this summer with a project that guests can experience during their stays.
