Travel Tip: How You Can Learn New Skills at Hotels Around the World

falconry_3It’s one thing to stay at a resort for its pool or spa. But in some places, you might even be able to learn new skills while you’re there. Some of them are truly unique.

Take The Gleneagles Hotel in Perthshire, Scotland. It’s in the countryside, so the resort has plenty of activities—an equestrian center, golf, and…a falconry school?

That’s right, you can actually learn the ancient art of training a bird of prey with experts by your side.

In Tuscany, you can learn to hunt for truffles at Castel Monastero. You walk through the fields with a trained forager and his truffle-sniffing dogs to dig them up.

Blackberry Farm in Tennessee is known for food—everything from cooking classes to cheese making. But you can also learn how to operate a horse-drawn carriage. You’ll not just ride one, but drive one.

Or, just head to a Club Med resort and chances are you’ll find a trapeze school. Hey, I told you some of these were pretty out there.
