Travel Tip: What to Expect at New All-Inclusive Resorts

twin farmsIt used to be that an all-inclusive trip meant one thing: a beach resort where a wristband got you access to a buffet and off-brand liquor. But these days, you can expect much more with new, all-inclusive resorts.

Club Med, which basically pioneered the concept, is opening an all-inclusive ski resort. Val Thorens Sensations Snow Resort will open its doors in the French Alps this December.

Prices start at $3,500 per person, and that includes international airfare, seven nights in a hotel, all your meals and drinks, lift tickets, and lessons.

In Steamboat Springs, Colorado, Vista Verde Ranch has all-inclusive packages from about $1,200 a person. That includes three nights in a lodge, three meals a day, alcohol, outdoor activities, and even cooking classes.

Twin Farms in Vermont has a similar program, where all your food and activities are included in the price—even the tips!

Are these the cheapest deals out there? Not by a long shot. But the point is you don’t have to worry about being nickel and dimed to death, and there won’t be any sticker shock when you check out. For some people, that’s worth a fortune.
