Sometimes news comes across my desk that’s so bizarre I think someone must be playing a practical joke.
Well, that’s what I thought when I heard about the cat cafe opening up in Chicago. It’s inspired by similar concepts in Japan and Taiwan, where people who don’t have their own pets can go have coffee while playing with cats.
There are already cat cafes in other U.S. cities like San Diego, Denver, and Portland.
In some cases, you can even adopt the animals…after you finish your latte, of course.
So what’s next? Rabbit, owl, and even goat cafes are popping up in Japan, which means it’s only a matter of time before we see them here. These are some of the world’s strangest animal cafes.
It turned out this one IS too good to be true: a teacup pig cafe. It’s coming to London, but only for one weekend in May, as a way to raise awareness that adopting these little guys isn’t always a good idea.
Really, you just can’t make this stuff up.
