Greenville, South Carolina
Located in the upstate region of South Carolina, Greenville is a mix of modern, downtown style and Southern charm.
Greenville has a long history as a battleground in the Civil Rights movement of the 1960s, but these days this once sleepy textile town looks and acts more like Austin, Texas. More than 100 restaurants have opened along Main Street alone. There’s even the Dark Corner Distillery, which makes Appalachian Moonshine with names like Hot Mama. As for the food scene…yes, it’s the south, and it’s a festival of deep frying. But Greenville also has great Vietnamese food.
It’s not only about food and drinks in Greenville. Because the up and coming city sits at the base of the Blue Ridge Mountains and near the Paris Mountain State Park, it is a great spot for hiking or for a picnic at Reedy River Falls Park.
