Travel Tip: Hotel Aliases

@Beyonce Instagram

Every time you check into a hotel, you’re asked to provide a valid ID. When it comes to celebrities and very public figures, hotels allow them to use aliases once they’ve registered and that’s when things get creative.

For example, Michael Jackson used to check in under the name, Dr. Dolittle.

Justin Bieber uses Chandler Bing from Friends.

For unknown reasons, Beyonce used Ingrid Jackson. Meanwhile Jay Z’s alias is perhaps more telling. He checks in under the name of Frank Sinatra.

Ozzy Osbourne chooses Prince Albert.

Some of Johnny Depp’s aliases are rather odd—Mr. Drip Noodle, Mr. Oddpong and Mr. Stench.

But you don’t need to be a star to be able to check in under a different name. In fact, it’s totally legal to register at the hotel using an alias as long as you don’t use a fake ID or give a fake address.
