Travel Tip: Safety Concerns for International Business Travelers
When it comes to terrorism, a good gauge is usually frequent business travelers.
The Global Business Travel Association studied the risks on the road—from illness and political instability to outright terrorism and violence.
Not surprisingly, business travelers fear terrorism more than street crime, illness, disease, property crime, and theft.
But the key findings are the destinations that business travelers deem unsafe.
Topping the list: Turkey, Mexico, Nigeria, Brazil, Indonesia, India, and Malaysia.
Reportedly, 36 percent worry that avoiding high-risk destinations might reflect poorly on their careers.
But 49 percent of them say they would still avoid traveling to these markets, even if it would hurt their careers.
As a result, travel to those destinations may take a while longer to bounce back.
