Travel Tip: How Airport Food is Getting an Upgrade
Most of us don’t associate airports with fine dining—or even good food.
But at a number of airports around the U.S., things are actually getting better.
Let’s be honest: most of us don’t go to airports to eat.
But since we spend so much time there, why can’t we eat well — or at least eat better?
Now at a few U.S. airports we can.
Not long ago, airport food was guessing the age of a mystery hot dog on the greasy rotisserie.
But now, New York’s LaGuardia has Union Square Farmer’s Market and a great bakery.
At Atlanta’s airport they have everything from an organic juice bar to a first-class Mexican restaurant.
At LAX there’s wood-fired pizza and a Petrossian caviar bar — they’ll also pack it to go.
But while you’re eating all the great food, try to remember why you’re at the airport in the first place: to get through the airport as fast as possible.
