For nearly 30 years, U.S. travelers know all about State Department travel advisories, warnings, and even travel bans.

But in recent years a number of foreign countries are now returning the favor.

They’re warning their own citizens about where not to go, or where to go with extreme caution in the United States.

The Bahamas, for example, now warns its citizens to be aware of the recent shootings of black males by police in a number of U.S. cities, and to stay away from political protests.

Citizens of Canada are now being warned about pickpocketing in major U.S. cities, and to stay away from some neighborhoods from dusk to dawn.

New Zealand issued a similar warning to its travelers,  and Germany now warns its citizens about armed robberies while visiting the U.S.

The United Arab Emirates issued a special alert to its citizens, cautioning them against wearing traditional clothing in certain parts of the U.S.

The worst four-letter word that starts with F is fear, so read these advisories and our advisories with caution, but don’t let them stop you from traveling.
