If you want to borrow some of the romance from last year’s fairytale Royal Wedding, then head to London. Between the wedding and hosting this summer’s Olympic Games, this European capital is high on many list hot in 2012.

A proposal here doesn’t have to cost a lot of money because after all, it’s all about romance and memories. There are plenty of famous (and romantic) landmarks in this fascinating city offering unforgettable backdrops for that special moment.

There’s also a legend claiming that anyone getting engaged under the Statue of Eros at Piccadilly Circus at the stroke of midnight will be blessed with good luck and happiness throughout their marriage. Getting down on bended knee in Hyde Park – in a row boat on the Serpentine is another fairy-tale setting.

For a “bird’s eye” view of the historic city, hop onboard the London Eye – a giant Ferris wheel on the banks of the Thames River. You can even pre-arrange priority boarding and a bottle of champagne.

Runaway Bride Tip: Be sure to slip in a trip to the romantic Cotswolds.
