Bayt al-Razzaz, Egypt
Bayt al-Razzaz, a historic residential complex, contains 190 rooms surrounding two courtyards and is home to Cairo’s largest surviving mandara (reception hall). The World Monument’s Fund says the eastern half of this location has been restored in 2007, however the western side is still in need of complete renewal. The political turmoil in Egypt has overshadowed the urgency to repair this historic home.
