Maria writes, “I am currently cruising the Norwegian Fjords aboard Hurtigruten’s MS Midnatsol. While visiting Nordkapp, I took a photo of the famous Globe monument, which was completely shrouded in thick fog. It wasn’t until later, back on the ship, that I noticed a surprise visitor in the frame: a bird! A resident bird expert on board identified it as a snow bunting, a hardy Arctic passerine in the Calcariidae family. Spotting this beautiful little creature hidden in the mist felt incredibly rare, magical, and unforgettable.“
