Many passengers fly with the mistaken assumption that their plane has been sitting there for hours just waiting for them. That’s hardly the case. In fact, these days you’ll be lucky if your seat, tray table, and area around your seat have even been cleaned.

So bring along some antiseptic antibacterial wipes and clean off the surface of anything your skin might touch, and that includes the seat cushion, the armrests and the headrest, and both the bottom and the top of the tray table, even the video screen.

It will take less than 90 seconds, but it goes a long way toward making your flight just a little bit healthier.
