Mel writes, “My family went to Waikiki in Hawaii to celebrate our daughter’s graduation and we got this shot on a walk at sunset,” he continues. “Diamond Head in the background is THE iconic symbol of Waikiki, Honolulu, and the island of Oahu. It is a National Natural Landmark and is actually the edge of a volcanic cone that is 200,000 years old. A 0.8 mile walking trail to the top is hiked by 1.3 million visitors per year. In the foreground is the oceanfront Hilton Hawaiian Village, the largest hotel in Hawaii.”
