A Hidden Cell Phone Feature for Outdoor Travel

If you like the great outdoors and like to hike or camp, it’s often difficult to get a strong cell signal on your phone. But a little-known feature on cell phones can be your savior, whether you’re way out in the woods or at another remote area or island.

If you have an iPhone 14 or a Google Pixel 9, the units have a satellite feature that allows you to send messages, text emergency services, and even share locations when you have no cellular or Wi-Fi service.

When you swipe down from the upper right corner of your screen, look for the satellite function in your control center. When clicked, instructions will appear on your screen for the best satellite connection.
