The Essentials

Easiest and Toughest Cities to Navigate

Helsinki

One of the keys to enjoying a destination is understanding how easy — or difficult — it is to find your way around once you get there. So which are the easiest and hardest cities to navigate?

The most navigable city? Helsinki, in Finland. It’s a great walking city, with well-designed public transport. That is followed by Valencia, Spain, where more than 26% of the locals choose to walk. Same with Vienna.

Abu Dhabi is not a walking destination, but public transport and inexpensive taxis make the difference.

And the toughest cities to navigate? Delhi, Lima, Bogota, Houston and, not surprisingly, Los Angeles.
