The Essentials

Skip the Water and Coffee on Planes

We’ve all heard the warning of “don’t drink the water” when traveling overseas.

But that warning should actually be heeded before we ever arrive, as in, don’t drink the water on your airplane or the coffee or tea.

It comes from an airplane’s water tank, and the latest reports from the EPA, which analyzed E. coli bacteria levels and other nasty substances, confirms that.

There’s a problem. While Delta scored a top score of 5, Southwest only scored a 3, United a 2.7, JetBlue a 1.8, and at the bottom of the list, American.

Perhaps time to BYO.
