Sandra writes, “We just returned from Kenya and Uganda. Besides an exciting safari and gorilla trekking experience, we decided to visit the Mabamba wetlands on Lake Victoria which is beautiful. We were in search of the rare Shoebill stork which is 5 feet tall, loves lungfish and can stand motionless for hours. It gets its name from the huge beak that looks like a shoe and this bird has a very prehistoric look. We were thrilled to not only see one, but two Shoebills.”
