The latest nationwide cleanliness audit ranked 35 U.S. cities and looked at rodent and roach infestations, air and water quality, litter, vandalism and population density.

Coming in dead last — New York City. Followed by Los Angeles and Philadelphia, all with a D rating.

Other dirty — or dirtier — cities, with a C rating: Houston, Chicago and Washington D.C.

Which cities scored highest? An A rating went to Portland, Oregon, Seattle and Rochester, New York.
