Airports in the Winter: Which One Is Better?

Airports in the Winter: Which One Is Better?

Winter is upon us, and let’s face it.

Some US airports do better than others when the temperature drops.

And this is especially important if you’re connecting flights in the winter months.

On the East Coast, airports like Newark tend to close quickly at the first sign of snow, and LaGuardia as well.

But airports like Minneapolis and St Paul have a great record for getting flights in and out, even in snowy weather.

And we’re talking about a location that gets an average of 51 inches of snow a year. Salt Lake also scores high marks, and is almost always kept open. Its weather cancellation rate is an impressive 1%.

Atlanta is also a bad weather winner, and it has more than enough space for planes to taxi, even at normally congested times.
