Major Banks Opening Airport Lounges

If you’ve been to an airport lately, you may have noticed long lines in front of airline VIP lounges.

It sort of defeats the purpose of why you’d join a lounge in the first place.

But now, there’s a new battle shaping up. Major banks have started their own airport lounge war. JP Morgan Chase has a Sapphire Lounge in Boston’s Logan Airport, free to Sapphire Reserve cardholders.

New Chase lounges are opening soon in Las Vegas, New York’s LaGuardia, Phoenix and San Diego.

Citibank has a Citigold lounge at the San Francisco Airport as well as New York and Miami.

And what’s in your wallet? Capital One has lounges in Dallas and new ones coming in Denver and Washington D.C.

Even the lounge food is supposed to be better, with celebrity chefs offering fresh seasonal dining options, including dim sum.

But there are no guarantees that there won’t be long lines to get in.
