This week’s special broadcast of Eye on Travel is from Tanzania, coinciding with the global premiere of Tanzania: the Royal Tour, Peter Greenberg’s long-running special television series where sitting heads of state become his personal tour guides to and through their countries. This week, Peter is joined by the President of the United Republic of Tanzania Samia Suluhu Hassan. She’ll recap the first year of her presidency, and report on the strategic issues facing her country (and the other 43 countries on the continent) at a critical time in Tanzania’s development. Then, the U.S. ambassador to Tanzania, Dr. Donald Wright, stops by with a report on everything from sustainability to tourism, from natural resources to animal poaching. Speaking of sustainability, Richard Bailey chimes in on the cutting edge approach his ultra-luxury hotel, The Brando, has taken to operate totally off the grid in Tahiti. And Gunther Bright from American Express, on its latest travel research — the increased demand to travel despite COVID, gas prices, and the Russia/Ukraine conflict. There’s all this and more on this week’s Eye on Travel.
