As the world is now emerging from COVID-19, there are new rules applying to cruise lines around the world.

Italy has now banned cruise lines from the canals in Venice. Croatia has limited the number of cruise lines that can be in its port on any one day, and Bermuda has done the same.

And what are the cruise lines doing? They are working with individual destinations and ports to reschedule entire itineraries and stagger arrival and departure schedules to still be able to call on those ports, and in some cases, the law of unintended consequences has weighed in.

Some ships are now even overnighting in these ports, giving passengers the opportunity to go beyond one cocktail and a t-shirt and spend at least some quality time ashore.

So recheck your cruise ship itineraries. Chances are that they have changed.
