Sharecare’s Latest Healthiest State Ranking

Kanaha Beach Park, Hawaii

Each year, digital health company Sharecare releases a community well-being index, ranking all 50 U.S. states from healthiest to least healthy based on access to healthcare, food, housing, transportation, and more.

Massachusetts comes in at number one, with top marks in healthcare access and other social determinants of health.

Hawaii is the second healthiest state, specializing in individual physical, social, and financial well-being.

New Jersey, Maryland, and New York round up the top five.

So which are the least healthiest states? For 2020, the ranking goes to West Virginia, New Mexico and Arkansas.

Last place goes to Mississippi, which also scored the lowest in the nation in financial and social well-being. And it’s the second year in a row that the “Magnolia State” came in last place.
