2017 is becoming the year of the new cruise ship.
This year Seabourn Cruise Line launches their new Encore, a 600 passenger ship.
Silversea Cruises launches its ultra-luxury Silver Muse in April, which has great restaurant choices.
Norwegian Cruise Line is also introducing its new Norwegian Joy. The ship is aimed at Chinese cruisers, complete with a go kart racetrack on deck.
The MSC Meraviglia launches in June, complete with a 262-foot synthetic LED sky above its interior promenade complete with Cirque du Soleil performances.
Later in the year, the massive MSC Seaside will sail in the Caribbean, complete with a large water park and an industry first — a wraparound al fresco boardwalk.
Viking Cruises, the ocean-based branch of the popular river cruise line, will release two new ships this year. The Viking Sky, the cruise line’s third oceanic ship, launches this month.
In December of this year, the Viking Sun will sail the company’s first-ever World Cruise, which spans 141 days, five continents, 35 countries, and 66 ports.
Most of the new ships are already sold out — or close to it — for their inaugural season.
But there’s good news — look for very attractive discounts on these cruise lines’ other ships and itineraries. It’s a buyers market for 2017.
