Daily Deal: Celebrate National Skyscraper Day in Chicago

Locations in this article:  Chicago, IL

chicagoSince it started in 1887, Labor Day has always been officially observed as a celebration to honor the achievements of the American worker.

But two days after Labor Day, there’s a little known special day….National Skyscraper Day. Taking place on Wednesday, September 3, this holiday gives us the opportunity to appreciate the determination, engineering, and architectural design that goes into creating the world’s tallest buildings.

Head to Chicago to see the fourth tallest skyscraper in the world. The Sears Tower stands at 1,451 feet.

If you’re looking for an excuse to head to the windy city, the Hyatt Regency Chicago is having a five-day sale to honor National Skyscraper Day. From now through September 5, guests can book a standard room and get an upgraded city view room for $99 per night.

This 40 percent savings is valid for stays between September 1 and 5. The upgraded rooms have views of the Chicago River, the Wrigley Building, Tribune Tower, and Lake Michigan.
