Gray’s Ice Cream certainly scores points for its history; the 91-year-old business originally had its ice cream supply delivered from a Massachusetts farm by horse and buggy.
Afterward, owner Annie Gray sold the ice cream from her home between 1923 and 1937.
The shop itself was established in 1938, and is now more popular than ever.
Current owner Marilyn Bettencourt has run the business since 1981, and still makes the ice cream herself.
The shop offers the Rum Raisin and Frozen Pudding flavors made popular in the 1930s, but currently supplies over forty other flavors, including the unique Ginger, Grapenut, Indian Pudding, Banana Chip, and Maple Walnut, as well as seasonal favorites such as Pumpkin and Eggnog.
