Hotels Step Up to the Plate With the First MLB 2014 Baseball Deals

Minute Maid StadiumWe’re at the doorstep of Major League Baseball’s opening day, and hotels near stadiums are stepping up to the plate with packages and deals. From Wrigley Field to AT&T Park, you can head to the game and then crash at a major league hotel for the night. Check out where you can save on baseball deals from coast to coast.

XV Beacon Hotel is offering the Follow Me to Fenway package from April 1-30. This overnight deal includes hot pretzels and cold beer waiting when you open your room door, offers a tour of Fenway (including walking on the field and in the locker rooms), and provides a courtesy Lexus driver to drop you off at Fenway on game day. Though the package doesn’t include game tickets, you can purchase them through the hotel. There are no blackout dates, but rooms get booked quickly. Monaco Chicago (2)Kimpton Hotels is offering baseball-themed deals all season long. Between March 28 and September 28, you get 15 percent off standard rates. Kimpton InTouch members also get free Wi-Fi and $10 minibar/bar credit. In Los Angeles, Hotel Wilshire is 8 miles from Dodger Stadium (from $191 a night); Monaco Chicago, overlooking the river, is 5 miles from Wrigley Field (from $118 a night); Monaco Denver is only half a mile from Coors Field (from $161 a night). The Hyatt Regency San Francisco is offering the 20 Paces to the Bases package. Make a reservation from April 1 through October 31 and get both a $25 gift certificate for all AT&T Park outlets and a daily $20 to use for food and beverages at the hotel’s Eclipse Restaurant and Lounge. While they’re not offering any perks for baseball fans, it’s a great central (and secluded) spot to base yourself, whether you’re headed to Yankee Stadium or Citi Field. The hotel can hook you up with Yankees or Mets tickets and arrange private transportation to and from the game. Grab a drink at the Rose Bar to raise a toast to Babe Ruth. Even if you can’t get to a game, don’t miss the chance to check out the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum. Within walking distance is the Otesaga Resort Hotel,  where you can book two baseball-themed packages. The Double Play package provides a ticket to the museum and a baseball bat with the Otesaga logo; rates average $390 a night and it is available every day from April 24-November 30. The VIP Experience package gives you one ticket per person, a private tour of the museum and its library, a reception, and a Hall of Fame Sustaining Membership which gives free entry and gift shop discounts for a year.
