Screen Shot 2014-02-03 at 12.25.45 PMMost folks who visit the Everglades head to the western part of Florida to Alligator Alley. Just 45 minutes outside Fort Lauderdale is The Sawgrass Recreation Park, where you’ll find exhibits with local wildlife and reptiles.

The fun really starts when you hop on one of the airboat rides. Alligators are nocturnal creatures so, if you want to see them, skip the crowded day excursions and come out at night.
