A Standalone Bed on Singapore Airlines?

Singapore Airlines revolutionized luxury travel in 2007 when it introduced self-contained suites to first-class service. Available exclusively on board the A380 aircraft, these lavish suites were beautifully designed by French luxury yacht interior designer Jean-Jacques Coste, but what strikes the eye most about these cabins are the standalone beds. They are actual beds! Full-sized, 78-inch beds, fitted with fine linen and made plush with full-sized pillows! If dosing off is the last thing you wish to do in such a delightful space, then enjoy a glass of Dom Perignon while you channel surf KrisWorld, the inflight on-demand entertainment system. If you are traveling as a couple, you can book a double bed and relax in your own private space in the skies together. Sliding doors and window blinds give you the freedom to decide how much privacy you prefer. Aside from the bed, the suite boasts the airline’s largest armchair, hand-stitched by Poltrona Frau. Apart from the suites, a First Class cabin, comprising of eight stately seats, is available on Singapore Airlines’ new Boeing 777-300ER and refitted Boeing 777-300 aircraft. Meanwhile, the latest long-haul Business Class seats, available on all the A380,  Boeing 777-3000ER and refitted 777-200ER aircraft, measure at least 30 inches in width and transform into a fully-flat bed, giving you all the personal space and comfort you need to survive a long-haul flight.

Feeling hungry? Both First Class and Business class passengers have the option to “Book the Cook,” or pre-order a gourmet main course so that it is ready for you on flight. As long as you make your request at least 24 hours before your flight departure, you can choose from a range of over 60 diverse dishes—including low-fat and low-carbohydrate options—created by the award-winning International Culinary Panel. Otherwise, you can be surprised by the inflight menu which is served on tableware from Givenchy. A healthy selection of Champagne, Grand Cru red Burgundy and Second-Growth Bordeaux is served in crystal ware.
