Tillamook Cheese Factory

Even after dozens of cheese samples, you’ll still be craving more at this Oregon-based cheese factory. (I’m partial to the Sharp Cheddar and Pepper Jack.) The free self-guided factory tour takes you through the cheese-making process and allows you to view the approximately 163,000 pounds of cheese the factory produces per day. Your last stop on the tour is a room filled with samples. The bonus of touring the factory is that you get access to limited Tillamook items—like the creamy ice cream and yogurt that’s only available in parts of California and the Pacific Northwest, and the ever-so-fun cheese curds that actually squeak when you bite into them.
