Craig in Chicago asked: I’ve heard you speak about the Norwegian line, which ship would be the best, Epic, Pearl, etc.?
Peter commented: Many of you have seen the one hour special I did a couple years ago on the Norwegian cruise lines on CNBC on “A Week in the Life of a Cruise Line” which featured the Norwegian Pearl. Their newest ship is the Epic, which has a feature I really like.
Craig, I have no idea whether you’re married or single, but this ship did something that I like for solo travelers. Many people have been beaten up for years by that dreaded single supplement where you actually have to pay double the cost of a cabin if you want to travel by yourself. NCL gets major kudos from me since they designed 128 single cabins and didn’t price them at double the cost of a regular cabin. They were priced somewhere in the middle. It was a win-win for everybody and, guess what, those cabins sold out immediately. So I like the Epic. I’m not a big ship fan, but it’s good ship. I also like the Pearl maybe even a little more because it seems a lot more manageable to me.
