When you’re driving to the airport before a long flight, the last thing you want to do is travel from lot to lot looking for available and affordable parking. A little research before a trip goes a long way, especially when you’ve got a phone app at your finger tips.
Several airports can now give you real time information on parking availability. Minneapolis St. Paul International Airport has that option through your smart phone, computer or over the phone.
General Mitchell International Airport in Milwaukee has a similar tool that tells you the number of spots left and if the lot is filling up or emptying out.
The aptly named AirportParking App gives you access to discounted rates at over 100 airports. You can find a parking lot based on location, user reviews and, of course, price. The app links straight to an airport parking reservation line so that you can make changes to your reservation before you head out and call the airport shuttle for pick up when you land.
And if you can’t remember where you parked? Take me to My Car is a free iphone app that will direct you back to your car. Car Locator provides the same service for android users.
