Boston by Foot now offers tours that get off the typical Freedom Trail to explore the darker side of the city, from the scene of the famous Brink’s robbery to mobster hangouts to where pirates were hanged in the 18th century.

For real celebrity dirt you’ll want to head to celebrity central, LA. Dearly Departed Tours offers a “Helter Skelter Tour” that focuses on the Manson murder sites, as well as a Hollywood history tour that visits nearly 100 sites related to celebrity scandal and death.
Jack the Ripper Tours are ever-popular in London, and there are a number to choose from. Golden Tours features a Ripperologist in full costume, and another features a cruise of the Thames filled with tales of murders and suicides.
