Valentine’s Day Proposals: Great Places to Propose

Your spouse will always remember the way you popped the question—and we mean always, whether you do it right or wrong. So why not propose in style and give her a story she (or he) will be dying to tell over and over again?

Whether you want to shout your love from the mountain tops, carve her name in the earth, or build an entire village to proclaim your devotion, keep reading to find out how to make it an offer she can’t refuse.

Lego Your Love – Carlsbad, California

Legoland Builder

Do you need to spell it out for your significant other? With the help of Legoland staff, you can build a custom sign to pop the question.
A man recently proposed to his girlfriend Lacey in the middle of Miniland Las Vegas. The park’s Master Model Builders constructed a sign at the base of the Eiffel Tower that spelled out, “Lacey, Will You Marry Me?” Park entrance is $67 per person and the tailored proposal experience runs roughly $320, depending on the complexity. And for the record, Lacey said yes.

Dolphin Encounters at Atlantis Resort – Paradise Island, Bahamas

They say it’s hotter under the water. With the help of Atlantis sea-keepers, you can have a dolphin swim to your sweetheart carrying a “Will you marry me?” sign. Or you can have a diver swim underwater and hold up the sign in one of their marine habitat display windows. The cost of the sea-keeper experience starts at $250, not including the sign. The dolphin costs $36.50 plus $150 per person for the interaction experience.

Mariachis and Magic at Hacienda San Angel – Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

Hacienda San AngelThe Hacienda San Angel has a very romantic past: The original building itself was a Valentine’s Day gift from actor Richard Burton to his then wife Susan Hunt.

Sign up for the Perfect Proposal package and at sunset, a mariachi troupe will serenade the bride to be from the cobblestone street below her window. The groom can then walk onto the scene, pop the question, a bottle of Champagne, then escort the lady to a private dinner for two. The package starts at $2,250 and includes suite accommodations, an in-suite massage, a private Mexican cooking and margarita making class with the hotel’s chef, daily breakfast in bed and rides to and from the airport.

Jingle Your Love all the Way – Resort at Squaw Creek, California

Couple togetherPut some giddy-up in your proposal on a 30-minute horse-drawn sleigh ride through California’s Olympic Valley.

The Resort at Squaw Creek is also offering a Valentine’s Day special starting at $1,599, which includes three nights accommodations, two one-day lift tickets to Squaw Valley, two 50-minute spa treatments, and a sleigh ride for two.

Or you can go for extra-romance by making it a moonlight sleigh ride for an additional fee.

Spell Out Your Love at the Montage – Laguna Beach, California

Propose at the beach at the Montage Laguna Beach and their team will carve “Will you marry me?” in the sand for no extra charge. General rooms start at $595 per night.

But if you want to make it even more over the top, do what this guy did: he had the proposal written in the sand and had a sky writer spell it out in the sky while he dropped to one knee on the top of a cliff. When they returned to their room, rose petals were scattered on the tub, bed and floor. This one cost an estimated $10,000 – $15,000. She said yes and they’re expecting their first child in a few weeks.

Romantic proposalA Plethora of Proposals – Breezes Runaway Bay, Jamaica
