Toronto skylineCan’t get to Australia for the Vivid Sydney festival? Well, there’s an affordable option a little closer to home!

The Luminato Festival, the largest multi-disciplinary arts festival in North America, will run June 5-14 in Toronto, Canada.

More than 100 events feature visual artists, dance, music, and food—from street performances to high-end curated shows.

And best of all, most events are free!

Events include: an evening of contemporary American music and stories with Emmylou Harris, Patty Griffin, Shawn Colvin, and Buddy Miller on June 5; a guitar fest at Yonge-Dundas Square on June 6 to try to break the Guinness World Record for the largest jam session (bring your guitar!); and the festival’s closing celebration—a free, weekend-long event with Cirque du Soleil in an original work at Toronto’s Central Waterfront.

Packages are available at more than 30 hotels, but are going fast. Visit www.luminato.com/2009 for more information.
