Want to live a green lifestyle? How about renting one on the road?

More and more rental companies are now offering hybrids, so here’s what you need to know.

Hertz recently announced it was adding thousands of hybrid cars to its fleet.

And Avis said it’s adding hundreds more to the ones it already has. Enterprise has 3,000 hybrids already in its fleet and boasts that it has the most fuel-efficient fleet in the business.

And with a growing number of hybrids available, most of these car companies now say they can actually guarantee a hybrid will be available if you want one in the largest cities.

Renting a hybrid usually costs about 5 to 10 dollars per day more than a standard rental.

Of course, if you’re driving more than a few dozen miles per day in your rental, chances are you can easily save that much on gas.
