Summer Travel Trends in 2026
It’s beginning to look like a stay-at-home summer for more and more U.S. travelers.
According to Cirium, an aviation analytics company that tracks travel bookings, reservations for U.S. to Europe flights are down more than 11%, but bookings from Canada to Europe are up, and bookings from Australia to Europe are up more than 24%.
Translation: Europe looks to be very crowded this coming summer, but with fewer American travelers.
Hotels will be full in Europe.
In the U.S., a similar situation may be emerging.
With hotels also being full — not with European travelers, where bookings to the U.S. are down 15% — but with Americans choosing to travel within the U.S.
