As airline consolidation continues and some airlines announce huge route expansions, is there one airline — regardless of its size or fleet — that flies to the most countries?
It’s not a U.S. airline (although United now claims to be the biggest airline in the world).
The title actually goes to Turkish Airlines. They currently hold the record for flying to more countries than any other airline in the world — over 120 countries. They’ve held this record since 2012.
Coming in second is Qatar Airways, flying to 84 countries, followed by Air France at 83 and British Airways at 79.
Why is this important?
For example, using Istanbul as your hub with Turkish Airlines, you can connect almost anywhere in the world. Similarly, using Doha, Paris, or London can get you nearly anywhere globally.
