The Essentials

Airlines Adding New Routes

It’s the fourth quarter, and historically fewer people are traveling, and most airlines tend to reduce their schedules.

But this year, a number of airlines are behaving differently — they are adding new routes, with new nonstops to Europe, Africa and Australia.

American Airlines starts flying to Brisbane this month and a nonstop flight from Dallas to Rio de Janeiro.

United Airlines launches nonstop service to Marrakech.

Delta Air Lines is flying nonstop between Tampa and Amsterdam and four weekly flights between Orlando and London.

And Aer Lingus starts service between Las Vegas and Dublin.

Heading to Asia?

There are new nonstops between Seattle and Manila.

And the introductory fares on most of these routes are very low.
