Surveillance Sting at Newark

In June 2012, eight TSA employees were fired from Newark airport after surveillance cameras were installed in a screening room to catch potential thefts. Officials proposed firing 25 others and suspending 19, the single biggest disciplinary action at a US airport. However, after reviewing most cases, the agency fired only four. One resigned, 32 were suspended, six were cleared, and one was outstanding at last report.
