Airports Allow Gate Access For Non-Ticketed Visitors
Are you a parent taking a child to the airport for their upcoming flight or a relative or well-wisher who wants to bid farewell to your family member or friend at the boarding gate?
A number of airports now allow non-ticketed visitors to go through TSA checkpoints to accompany friends or relatives to the gates or grab a meal together.
Oakland Airport now offers a guest pass, as do airports in San Diego, Seattle, Cleveland, Kansas City, Orlando, Detroit and Philadelphia.
You just apply for the pass online on the day of flight, TSA approves it, and you go through normal passenger screening.
