Howard writes, “I took this photo last spring while traveling through the Greek islands. The image captures the moment just after sunrise in Santorini, when the early light spills over the caldera and illuminates the whitewashed homes cascading down the cliffs.
What struck me most about this moment was the quiet. Before the crowds arrived, the narrow paths were empty except for a few locals opening their cafés. The sea below was completely still, reflecting the soft pink and gold tones of the sky. From this vantage point, you could see fishing boats beginning their morning routes while church bells echoed faintly across the village.
Travel often gives us those rare pauses in time, and this was one of them — a reminder that sometimes the best experiences happen before the day fully begins.”
