This year, advance airline reservations are tracking 2% above that.

So get ready for the crowds. And the busiest travel day of 2025? Not the Wednesday before Thanksgiving, many folks are taking the entire week off and leaving earlier. It’s Sunday November 30th.

That day will feature 3,336,021 seats scheduled to fly in the U.S., and U.S. airlines have added 250,000 more seats this Thanksgiving period. So be prepared for completely full flights and longer lines at TSA security checkpoints. And try to avoid November 30th.
