The Essentials
More Americans Are Leaving the U.S.
It appears that when the going gets tough, in a world of tariff and trade wars, immigration policies and an uncertain economy, a growing number of Americans are essentially buying one-way tickets out of the country.
During the last eight months, more and more Americans are literally moving out of the U.S.
There’s been a large increase in the number of American expatriates now living abroad, and many are seeking foreign (or dual) citizenship.
For example, there’s been a 60% increase in U.S. applications for Irish passports.
And many countries are offering at least official residencies with a real estate investment and a multi-year location commitment.
The other popular destinations are Portugal and Malta.
