Earlier this year, Delta announced it was partnering with gambling website DraftKings. 

Does this mean inflight betting is coming? 

Not exactly. 

Inflight gambling is still illegal, so what does this Delta partnership with DraftKings mean? 

The current betting, pun intended, is that anyone who bets on sports with DraftKings, on the ground of course, would then earn Delta miles. 

But a major caution here: this could easily turn into a double negative for SkyMiles members, losing money betting on sports to then earn more frequent flyer miles that you have more and more difficulty to redeem. 

My money is on…opting out.
