Frequent flyer miles can sometimes do more for others than for you.
They can often bring families and loved ones together, sometimes for the very last time. Giveamile.org is a nonprofit site that takes donated United and Air Canada miles and then gifts special compassion flights to people in critical end-of-life situations.
Since 2013, they’ve received over 61 million donated miles and provided over 1,300 flights.
Delta’s SkyMiles program has SkyWish, and American’s AAdvantage program gives matching miles for global health and well-being programs.
The process is simple: you just donate your miles to help give flights to designated specific charities, like Habitat for Humanity, Make-A-Wish, and others.
