Every time you check into a flight, great attention is paid to your checked bags, which must go through security screening. 

But what happens when you land? That’s another story. 

There is no security. And the bigger the airport, the more likely your bag might be stolen. 

In the latest research, DFW in Dallas is the airport with the highest incidence of baggage theft, followed by Los Angeles and Atlanta. These are America’s three busiest airports with the highest passenger volume, long walking distances and crowded baggage claim areas. 

And the airports with the least amount of bag theft? The smaller ones: airports in Helena, Montana, Casper, Wyoming, Manchester, New Hampshire, and Wilmington, Delaware.
