Say Goodbye to Ticket Change Fees

A few years ago, during the pandemic, airlines — first led by United — eliminated those draconian ticket change fees.

Previously, if you needed to cancel or change your flight, the fees could easily wipe out the original cost of your ticket. Now, if you need to change or cancel your flight, you won’t lose your money. This lets you proactively track your airfare.

For example, if you book a flight for $350 and it drops to $275, you can cancel the original flight, get a $350 credit, and then rebook at $275, pocketing an additional $75 credit.

Google Flights and Kayak are two sites that track this for you and allow you to reprice flights to save.
