It’s a problem for many parents sending their unaccompanied child on a flight, or for friends and family wanting to meet someone on an incoming domestic flight.
Can you actually get to the gate without a ticket or boarding pass?
The answer — at a growing number of airports — is yes. You can now get a guest gate pass even if you don’t have a ticket at Detroit’s airport, John Wayne Airport in Orange County, California, New Orleans Airport, Tampa, Philadelphia, and others.
You just need a government-issued ID, and of course, you need to go through TSA security checkpoints.
